Foro de ONG’s Feministas y de Mujeres de América Latina y el Caribe
El martes 10 de octubre se realizó en Chile el Foro de ONGs de mujeres y feministas preparatorio de la 65° reunión regional de de la Mujer de América Latina y el Caribe que se lleva a cabo este jueves y en la que se considerara la preparacion de la Region para la Comision de la Condicion de la MUjer 68 – CSW 68. .
En el foro se construyeron colectivamente las prioridades de las recomendaciones para presentar a la Ministras y autoridades de los mecanismos de las mujeres en la región.
La apertura de la reunión estuvo a cargo de Mabel Bianco, Co Chair NGO CSW LAC.
Luego expusieron María Noel Vaeza Directora Regional para América Latina y el Caribe de ONU MUJERES; la siguió Ana Güezmes, Directora División de Asuntos de Género, CEPAL y Cecilia Allemany, SubDirectora Regional para AL y el Caribe de ONU Mujeres, quienes dierpon la bienvenida y señalaron los puntos que consideraban mas importantes . .
Luego se hizo un Panel de Presentación del primer borrador del documento elaborado por el CoNGO CSW LAC para la CSW68 a cargo de la Comisión de redacción delDocumento. La moderadora fue Terry Ince y las panelistas fueron Tita Torres, Griselda Matta y Alessandra Nilo.
Terminado el pequeño intervalo comenzó el trabajo en grupos donde se pusieron en consideración los puntos para la presentación de la posición de la sociedad civil de mujeres y feministas.
Posteriormente se llevó a cabo el Plenario con la presentacion de relatorías de los trabajos en grupos moderado por Sandra Castañeda; y más tarde la revisión final y consenso sobre puntos claves.
El cierre estuvo a cargo de Louise Finikin y Mabel Bianco, Co Presidentas del CoNGO CSW LAC .
El jueves 12 de octubre se presentó la declaración a las ministras.
On Tuesday, October 10th, the preparatory Forum for Women’s and Feminist NGOs took place in Chile in anticipation of the 65th Regional Meeting of Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, which is happening this Thursday. During this meeting, preparations for the Region for the Commission on the Status of Women 68 (CSW 68) were considered.
Collectively, the forum established priorities for recommendations to be presented to the Ministers and authorities of women’s mechanisms in the region.
The meeting was opened by Mabel Bianco, Co-Chair of NGO CSW LAC. Subsequently, presentations were given by María Noel Vaeza, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at UN WOMEN; followed by Ana Güezmes, Director of the Gender Affairs Division at ECLAC, and Cecilia Allemany, Deputy Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at UN Women. They welcomed the attendees and highlighted the key points.
Following this, a panel presentation of the first draft of the document prepared by CoNGO CSW LAC for CSW68 was conducted by the Document Drafting Committee, with Terry Ince as the moderator and panelists including Tita Torres, Griselda Matta, and Alessandra Nilo.
After a short break, participants engaged in group work to consider the key points for presenting the civil society position of women and feminists.
Subsequently, a plenary session was held to present the reports from the group work, moderated by Sandra Castañeda. Later, the final review and consensus on key points took place.
The closing remarks were delivered by Louise Finikin and Mabel Bianco, Co-Presidents of CoNGO CSW LAC.
On Thursday, October 12th, the declaration was presented to the Ministers.
