FEIM en la Cumbre W7 2023
El pasado domingo 16 de abril se llevó acabo la Cumbre W7 2023 en Tokio. El evento fue organizado por el Comité Directivo de W7 Japón, La Unidad de Género y la Red de Sociedad Civil de Japón sobre los ODS (SDGs Japan); y contó con el apoyo de Fundación Open Society, La Oficina de Igualdad de Género de la Oficina del Gabinete y El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de Japón.
Mabel Bianco, presidenta de FEIM, asistió como integrante del Comité asesor, en el que fue seleccionada en diciembre del año pasado.
El Comité, integrado por casi 89 mujeres del Norte Global y del Sur Global, tuvo como responsabilidad elaborar el Comunicado dirigido a los jefes de gobierno de los paises, que se puede encontrar en este link, en su idioma original.
Para ello se constituyeron cinco grupos, según la expertise. La presidenta de FEIM, por su parte, integró el grupo de Empoderamiento de las mujeres, participación significativa y liderazgo.
La Cumbre contó con una apertura a cargo de Kazuko Fukuda, copresidenta del W7. La primera sesión trató el tema de inteserccionalidad y género y fue moderada por Atsuko Miwa, también copresidente. La pregunta que rigió el encuentro fue qué no deberíamos pasar por alto al promover la agenda feminista.
En la segunda sesión se conversó sobre la colaboración con otros Grupos de Participación. La pregunta que sirvió como disparadora fue ¿Cómo deberíamos colaborar para promover la igualdad de género y los derechos humanos juntos?
La tercera sesión se realizó el comunicado del w7. Los temas fueron el empoderamiento de la Mujer, la participación Significativa y Liderazgo; y Justicia Económica y Estrategia de Cuidado. Además se debatió sobre autonomía Corporal y Autodeterminación: Violencia Basada en Género (VBG), Derechos Sexuales y Reproductivos (DSR), y Orientación Sexual, Identidad y Expresión de Género, Características Sexuales (SOGIESC). Por último se habló sobre Política Exterior Feminista para la Sostenibilidad y la Justicia.
La sesión cuatro fue sobre cuál será el camino a seguir y cómo puede el G7 ser responsable. Una de las panelistas expertas fue Mabel Bianco.
El Sr. Ogura, Ministro de Estado de Igualdad de Género y Empoderamiento de la Mujer, se unió a la Cumbre para dar su mensaje y recibir el Comunicado del W7, que será entregado oficialmente a los jefes del G7 en julio de este año. Más tarde se realizó una sesión interactiva con los Asesores Juveniles W7 moderados por Kazuko, Co-Presidenta de W7 Japón.
On Sunday, April 16th, the W7 2023 Summit was held in Tokyo. The event was organized by the W7 Japan Steering Committee, the Gender Unit, and the Japan Civil Society Network on SDGs, with the support of the Open Society Foundation, the Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
Mabel Bianco, president of FEIM, attended as a member of the Advisory Committee. She was selected on December 2022.
The Committee, composed of nearly 89 women from the Global North and the Global South, was responsible for drafting the statement addressed to the heads of government of the countries.
Five groups were formed for this purpose, according to expertise. The President of FEIM was a member of the Women’s Empowerment, Meaningful Participation and Leadership group.
Kazuko Fukuda, w7 co-chair, made the opening remarks. The first session addressed the topic of intersectionality and gender, and was moderated by Atsuko Miwa, also co-chair.
The second session attended the Collaboration with other Engagement Groups and Beyond. The leading question was How should we collaborate to promote gender equality and human rights together?
The theme of the third session was the W7 Communique. The topics Los temas were Women’s Empowerment, Meaningful Participation, and Leadership; Economic Justice and Care Strategy.
Also, there was a debate on Bodily Autonomy and Self-Determination: Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual and Reproductive Rights (SRR), and Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). Finally, there was a discussion on Feminist Foreign Policy for Sustainability and Justice.
The fourth session focused on The Way Forward: How can G7 be accountable. One of the expert panelists was Mabel Bianco.
Mr. Ogura, Minister of State for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, joined the Summit to deliver his message and receive the W7 Statement, which will be officially presented to the G7 leaders in July of this year. Later, an interactive session was held with the W7 Youth Advisors, moderated by Kazuko, Co-Chair of W7 Japan.
