Feminist Foreign Policy as a Key Response to the Many Challenges Facing Latin America and the Caribbean
Mabel Bianco, President of FEIM, participated yesterday in the side event “Feminist Foreign Policy as a Key Response to the Multiple Challenges Facing Latin America and the Caribbean”. This meeting, organized by the Governments of Colombia, Chile, Brazil and Mexico, with the support of the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative (FFPC), brought together various stakeholders to analyze and discuss progress, lessons learned and best practices in feminist foreign policy in the region.
The event was moderated by Marita Perceval and was also attended by prominent figures such as the Minister of Mexico, Nadine Gassman; Claudia Parra, representative of Colombia; the Ambassador of Chile, Carla Serassi; Adriana Benjumea, together with the Vice Minister of Colombia; Vanesa, representative of Brazil; Lyric Thompson, from the FFPC; and Mario Noel Vaeza, from UN Women.
The main objective of the event was to share knowledge and tools to strengthen the capacity to respond to the multiple challenges in terms of gender equality in the region, as well as to enhance the impact of Feminist Foreign Policy in different multilateral and bilateral spaces.
The active participation of Mabel Bianco and other prominent leaders in this meeting reflects the shared commitment to work towards gender equality and women’s empowerment in Latin America and the Caribbean. This event is part of the CSW LAC NGO, and is a significant step towards building inclusive and equitable agendas in the region.
