Side event: Trazando el camino hacia la justicia climática feminista: Redefiniendo el Pacto de Futuro
El lunes 15 de julio se llevó a cabo el evento «Mapping the Path to Feminist Climate Justice: Redefining the Pact of the Future» en la sede de UN Women en la ciudad de Nueva York.
Este evento organizado por Women Power y sus integrantes: Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF), FEMNET, Women Environmental Programme (WEP); Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD); Women Major Group; La Fundación para Estudio e Investigación de la Mujer (FEIM); UN Women y GEF Action Coalition on Feminist Action for Climate Justice Spain.
Los temas del encuentro fueron la intersección de la acción climática (ODS 13), la igualdad de género (ODS 5) y las desigualdades (ODS 10); los resultados del foro CSO de la Cumbre del Futuro, las negociaciones climáticas de la UNFCCC, y los procesos de Beijing+30 y del Foro de Igualdad de Generaciones.

En el encuentro se consideró la intersección de la acción climática (ODS 13), la igualdad de género (ODS 5) y la reducción de las desigualdades (ODS 10); con las negociaciones climáticas de la UNFCCC, y los procesos de Beijing+30 y la Cumbre del futuro.
El objetivo principal fue definir los mínimos necesarios para la inclusión en el Pacto del Futuro y proporcionar una plataforma para que la sociedad civil, especialmente las organizaciones de mujeres y feministas, se involucre directamente con los tomadores de decisiones, forjando caminos para la justicia climática feminista dentro del marco de la Cumbre del Futuro.
La Directora adjunta de ONU Mujeres Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda fue la expositora principal y luego se escucharon las voces de cinco expertas y se realizaron cinco grupos de trabajo que abordaron los siguientes temas: financiamiento climático y cancelación de la deuda, soberanía alimentaria, transición justa y economía del bienestar y paz y seguridad. Luego de las discusiones en grupos se presentaron los informes.La reunion fue muy concurrida y sus discusiones y aportes fueron importantes.

Charting the path to feminist climate justice: Redefining the Future Compact
On Monday, July 15, the event “Mapping the Path to Feminist Climate Justice: Redefining the Pact of the Future” was held at UN Women headquarters in New York City.
This event was organized by Women Power and its members: Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF), FEMNET, Women Environmental Programme (WEP); Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD); Women Major Group; La Fundación para Estudio e Investigación de la Mujer (FEIM); UN Women and GEF Action Coalition on Feminist Action for Climate Justice Spain.
The themes of the meeting were the intersection of climate action (SDG 13), gender equality (SDG 5) and inequalities (SDG 10); the outcomes of the Summit of the Future CSO forum, the UNFCCC climate negotiations, and the Beijing+30 and Generations Equality Forum processes.

The meeting considered the intersection of climate action (SDG 13), gender equality (SDG 5) and reducing inequalities (SDG 10); with the UNFCCC climate negotiations, and the Beijing+30 and Future Summit processes.
The main objective was to define the necessary minimums for inclusion in the Pact for the Future and to provide a platform for civil society, especially women’s and feminist organizations, to engage directly with decision-makers, forging pathways for feminist climate justice within the framework of the Summit of the Future.
UN Women Deputy Director Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda was the keynote speaker followed by five expert voices and five working groups addressing the following topics: climate finance and debt cancellation, food sovereignty, just transition and welfare economics, and peace and security. After the group discussions, the reports were presented and the meeting was well attended and the discussions and contributions were important.
