Mabel Bianco was recognised as «Woman of the Decade» by the WEF Argentina 2023 awards.

On 10 October, the WEF Argentina 2023 Awards Ceremony took place, a distinguished event in the national calendar that recognises efforts and achievements towards gender equality and women’s economic empowerment in the country. In this occasion, awards were given in ten different categories, honouring outstanding individuals and organisations for their commitment to the cause.

Mabel Bianco, president of FEIM, received special recognition as «Woman of the Decade» in honour of her restless advocacy for women’s reproductive rights and the legalisation of abortion, as well as for her dedication to the promotion of gender equality and women’s health. Bianco, when receiving the award, addressed the audience and in addition to thanking them for this recognition, asked all those present to give a voice to the thousands of women and girls in the country who are suffering from different forms of violence and who are unable to express themselves in order to end the discrimination and inequalities that affect women and girls. She also pledged to continue fighting to make equality a reality for all women and girls in all their diversity in our country, the region and the world.

The event organisers said that «the awards ceremony was an exciting highlight of an event that brought together women from different countries and provinces of Argentina»; and remarked that «by celebrating outstanding personalities, the WEF Argentina had a clear objective: to give a voice to those who do not have one, increase visibility and move one step further towards equal opportunities and economic empowerment of women».

The organizers of the awards stated that «without a doubt, this event became a milestone in Argentina by bringing together influential women from different places, united by a common purpose: to create a more equal and just world».
